A team led by Alberta Energy consulted with industry participants, CAPP and SEPAC on implementation details for Alberta’s royalty framework.

On August 15, 2008, the Government released a Bitumen Royalty-In-Kind (BRIK) Request for Expression of Interest (REOI) inviting interested parties to make a submission detailing their interest, and explaining how they could participate in using the government’s BRIK volumes. Twenty submissions were received by the October 17th deadline. An update of the current status has been posted.
